There Is Nothing Repulsive About Repulse Bay

March 17th, 2009 by Kitci Wong

Ask anyone who has been to Hong Kong would surely include Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park, Victoria Peak, Nathan Road among their favorite tourist destinations to visit.  Another tourist attraction that Hong Kong visitors will include in their list of favorites is Repulse Bay.  Yes, Hong Kong has its own beach spots to be proud of.

Repulse Bay is what locals claim as the most stunning bay in the district.  Its name was based on an actual battle that happened back in the nineteenth century when the British soldiers were able to “repulse” pirate attacks.

Tagaytay: Second Summer Capital Of The Philippines

March 16th, 2009 by Alex Tan

Taal VolcanoTagaytay, a fast-growing city in the mountains of Cavite Province some 55 kilometers south of Manila, is quickly emerging as another popular summer destination of the Philippines. As Baguio City is becoming too crowded with development, industries, and pollution, and Sagada is a bit too far off for short term visits, Tagaytay retains the cool air, sparse environment, and majestic landscapes that makes it the new getaway destination all-year round. And with the added advantage of being relatively close to Metropolitan Manila and especially the central business district of Makati, Tagaytay is already the favorite place for executives to escape the stresses of office life, a spot where the busy executive could sip a cup of steaming coffee and get lost in the majestic spectacle of Taal Volcano. Organizations, clubs, and work teams also do seminars, retreats, and team-building sessions in the various resorts, hotels, and convention centers in the city.

Some do so to immerse themselves in different cultures and meet the locals of each country that they visit.  There will be individuals who ride that plane to some far off destination to go on a gastronomic adventure and taste the sumptuous cuisines of different countries.  Of course, folks can travel to head to the beach to relax and rejuvenate   under the energizing heat of the sun.

Shimla, India: Queen of Hill Stations

March 12th, 2009 by Alex Tan

Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh and the favorite summer destination of the British Raj a century ago. It is a hill station, a community located far above sea level, allowing it to remain cool during the blistering dry season heat. Shimla is notable for its tudorbethan and neo-gothic style of architecture, a heritage from its colonial days. The Viceroy, his administration, and their wives and children, would take the trouble to move from Calcutta to this wondrous community every year, and tourists still do so today, to soak in the cool weather in the summer and relish in winter activities six months later.

Ride The Wild Waters Of Asia

March 10th, 2009 by Kitci Wong

One of my all time favorite movies would have to be “River Wild”.  Watching this movie back in 1994 and seeing Meryl Streep’s character brave the strong rapids stirred within me great interest in the extreme sport of white water rafting.  I wondered as to when I can get the chance to try this for myself and where in the world will I get to do this for the very first time.

Boracay: Simply Breath-taking

March 9th, 2009 by Alex Tan

Boracay Sand CastleBoracay is the premier beach destination in the Philippines, an incomparable island of white sand, turquoise waters, outstanding corals, and plenty of fun in store. As you get off the main road and head for the beach, past the houses, diners, and shops, the blue sea bathed in bright sunlight proudly proclaims your start of a glorious stay in the island.

Boracay is a small, dumbbell-shaped island off Aklan. The best thing about it is the fine, white, powdery sand filling the principal beaches of White Beach, Puka Beach, and Bulabog Beach. Boracay is so popular all over the country that many choose it as a beach wedding destination, where the bride, groom, and loved ones stroll over the fine sand, a very memorable occasion, indeed. The officials on the island have wisely moved ferry-docking off White Beach, leaving the area clear for beachbums and sun-lovers. A continuous row of stores, diving shops, resorts, and dining establishments stretches throughout the beach, while tradesmen line the beach and offer services with a smile. As you spend the rest of the first day taking in the beauty of the sea, you can start feasting on seafood the very affordable restaurants, and even bar-hop during happy hour as the night draws on.

Trendy Shopping In The Malls Of Taiwan

March 6th, 2009 by Kitci Wong

Core Pacific City Living Mall People who are not too familiar with Taiwan would surely be surprised to find out that shopping is also one of the top activities that the Taiwanese prefer to do during their free time.  It is surprising in the sense that shopaholics hardly put Taiwan at the top of their list of destinations to visit whenever they go on a shopping spree in Asia.  The favorite shopping destinations would still have to be Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and exotic India.

Yes, the Taiwanese surely love to sing their favorite tunes in KTV bars and they also enjoy relaxing by catching the latest blockbuster movies.  But it cannot be denied that the Taiwanese, most especially the women in Taiwan, also use up a lot of time spending their dollars on fashionable clothes, chic shoes, trendy bags, and really stylish accessories.

March 4th, 2009 by JennG

Dehli is one of the oldest cities in India. So old, in fact, that it could have already been considered ancient when the British got around to discovering it. The city, once coveted by Asian rulers, now leaves behind a legacy that speaks volumes - if only you could hear it above the contemporary roar.
