Are you a shopaholic? Are you always on the lookout for sales, promotions, and great bargains? Do you get a different high from seeing all those huge SALE signs in your favorite boutiques and department stores?
If you answered “YES” to all these questions then I’m pretty sure that you are aware that Thailand is a one of the best places in Asia for shopping. Visitors from Asia and all over the world are known to be spoilt with the availability of inviting department stores, huge shopping malls, interesting specialty shops, and busy flea markets that seem to stay open until the wee hours of the morning.
I actually have great news for all you shopaholics who are itching to go on a that great shopping hunt. Believe it or not it is the time of the year again when you can pack your bags and fly to exotic and wonderful Thailand for the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale 2008.
Don’t waste any more time after you’ve checked in your budget hotel in Thailand as this sale started last June 1 and will run until August 31, 2008. Everyone is guaranteed to enjoy discounts from 5% up to a whopping 70% plus other perks and privileges. The great part is that these discounts are given in over a thousand merchants like Boutiques and Department Stores plus King Power Duty Free Shops, Hotels, Airlines, OnlineTravel Agencies, Health and Body Clinics etc. You will surely save a lot more than what you expect. More savings means more money to spend during your trip!
As this is called the Amazing Thailand Sale of the year, all those exciting discounts do not only apply for Bangkok. You can also enjoy all those fun bargains in other selected provinces like Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi, Hadyai, Samui Island, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Udom Thani, Hua-Hin, and Nakhon Ratchasima. You will know that one merchant is participating in the Grand Sale if you find the special Amazing Thailand Grand Sale 2008 sale sign displayed on their glass panels or anywhere in their shop.
When in Bangkok, you would have to visit the top department stores and malls like The Emporium, Robinson, Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Amarin Plaza, Erawan Bangkok, Gaysorn Plaza, MBK Center and many others. It is a great chance for you to shop for leather goods, smooth Thai silk, jewelry, batik, semi precious stones like rubies and sapphires, wooden decoration, and lacquer and bronze ware. Don’t forget to shop for various Thai delicacies which I mentioned in my previous article, Thai Delicacies to Bring Home.
This special shopping event is supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and they are even launching the campaign called “Amazing Thailand” that carries the theme of “Seven Amazing Wonders of Thailand“. This campaign aims to promote tourism in Thailand and direct attention to the exotic way of life of the Thai people, the rich Thai culture and traditions, festivals, and the lovely tourist spots that include Thailand’s breathtaking beaches. In addition to this, they would also like to promote Thailand’s relaxing massages and curative therapies that can be enjoyed by so many people.
The campaign is being launched at the perfect time when so many people are in Thailand for the Grand Sale. It will help remind people that although Thailand is such a well-known shopping destination, shopping is not the only thing that Thailand can offer.
So after you practically drop dead from all the shopping that you will be doing, you can feed your eyes by visiting the Grand Palaces, beautiful temples, museums, monuments or even head to the nearest beach resort to unwind and relax those sore feet.
After you have recharged and regained your strength, then you can do what you have to do. What else but catch the remaining days of the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale 2008 and shop some more!
