Maldives is an archipelago of 1,190 islands in the Indian Ocean, whose beautiful beaches have made an impact for centuries of visitors (Marco Polo once called the islands, “The flower of the Indies”). This predominantly Muslim nation has the smallest population in Asia, and is divided into 26 coral atolls.  As tourism is one of the major industries in Maldives, visitors are very much invited, even given a free 30-day visa upon arrival.

There Is Nothing Repulsive About Repulse Bay

March 17th, 2009 by Kitci Wong

Ask anyone who has been to Hong Kong would surely include Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park, Victoria Peak, Nathan Road among their favorite tourist destinations to visit.  Another tourist attraction that Hong Kong visitors will include in their list of favorites is Repulse Bay.  Yes, Hong Kong has its own beach spots to be proud of.

Repulse Bay is what locals claim as the most stunning bay in the district.  Its name was based on an actual battle that happened back in the nineteenth century when the British soldiers were able to “repulse” pirate attacks.

Sunbathe By The Beaches Of Macau

March 13th, 2009 by Kitci Wong

View of Hac Sa BeachPeople travel for different reasons.  Some travel to take photos of notable landmarks and popular tourist attractions. Some do so to immerse themselves in different cultures and meet the locals of each country that they visit.  There will be individuals who ride that plane to some far off destination to go on a gastronomic adventure and taste the sumptuous cuisines of different countries.  Of course, folks can travel to head to the beach to relax and rejuvenate   under the energizing heat of the sun.

Contrary to some first impressions of Macau, this charming tourist destination has several lovely beaches to offer to  beach bummers from all over the world.  These beaches can actually be placed in the top five list of attractions that  one must make time to visit while in Macau.  The coast of Macau, composed of the isthmus plus the islands of Coloane and Taipa, measures a total of about 41 kilometers.  The entire stretch of the coastline beaded with a lot of beautiful beaches that are ideal for anyone who are looking for some peace and quiet.

Boracay: Simply Breath-taking

March 9th, 2009 by Alex Tan

Boracay Sand CastleBoracay is the premier beach destination in the Philippines, an incomparable island of white sand, turquoise waters, outstanding corals, and plenty of fun in store. As you get off the main road and head for the beach, past the houses, diners, and shops, the blue sea bathed in bright sunlight proudly proclaims your start of a glorious stay in the island.

Boracay is a small, dumbbell-shaped island off Aklan. The best thing about it is the fine, white, powdery sand filling the principal beaches of White Beach, Puka Beach, and Bulabog Beach. Boracay is so popular all over the country that many choose it as a beach wedding destination, where the bride, groom, and loved ones stroll over the fine sand, a very memorable occasion, indeed. The officials on the island have wisely moved ferry-docking off White Beach, leaving the area clear for beachbums and sun-lovers. A continuous row of stores, diving shops, resorts, and dining establishments stretches throughout the beach, while tradesmen line the beach and offer services with a smile. As you spend the rest of the first day taking in the beauty of the sea, you can start feasting on seafood the very affordable restaurants, and even bar-hop during happy hour as the night draws on.

The scales on the Sentosa Merlion are also known to glow with different colors at night. At the back of this gigantic Merlion is a 120-meter long walkway which is referred to as the Merlion Walk. Best Beaches in Asia

September 10th, 2007 by E Cho

Asia is a vast continent covering many tropical areas with plentiful sandy beaches. From India to the Philippines to Indonesia, there are so many beaches to choose from that naming a few as “the best” is a difficult task. Selecting the best beach really depends upon personal criteria. For me, I’m considering the natural beauty of the area, pristine qualities, agreeable weather, and sparse crowds. The last qualification is most difficult to find as just about every good beach on the planet has been developed extensively.
