This time, you will learn how to call the Filipino people around you, in particular, Filipinos call their family. You see, family is very important for the Filipinos.

Babae = girl
Lalaki = boy
Bakla = gay
Tomboy = lesbian
Bulaklak = flower
Halaman = plantFamily:
Taytay = Father
Nanay = MotherAte = older sister
Kuya = older brother
Nakababatang kapatid = Younger sibling (sister/brother)
Kapatid = sibling (plural: mga kapatid = siblings; The use of mga indicates more than one)
Kapatid na babae = sister
Kapatid na lalaki = brother
Tita = Aunt
Tito = Uncle
Pinsan = Cousin
Lolo = Grandfather
Lola = Grandmother
Kasambahay = Household Help:
Drayber = Driver
Yaya = Nanny
Katulong = Maid
Magsasaka = Farmer
Hardinero = Gardener
Taga-luto/Kusinero = Cook
Taga-saing = Someone who cooks rice
Celfone = Mobile phone
Bolpen = Pen
Notbuk/Kwaderno = Notebook

Filipino language is difficult, I ever learned with my Philippino friends, and right now, i remember nothing. what a shame. Maybe it’s because it’s too different from Chinese. Anyway, this post is quite useful, I will replay again and listen carefully. Haha.

Thank you for reposting my lessons. As you may have noticed, there aren’t any new Pinoy for Dummies videos. Been extremely busy with hosting and singing lately. It always brightens my day when someone learns from me.
