Top Noosa Holiday Accommodation

November 2nd, 2007 by

NoosaNoosa represents the best of Australia – sand, sea and sun plus a whole lot more. It is hardly surprising that this is an immensely popular holiday destination found at the mouth of the Noosa River

Just 1.5 hours drive north of Brisbane on the aptly named Sunshine Coast, Noosa captures a wonderful mix of macho activity-based entertainment with rather more sedate creative outpourings from the local artistic community. The end result is a fashionable perhaps even exclusive all year round destination with a long list of ‘to-dos’ that will keep even the most demanding holiday maker occupied. Throw in an outstanding eclectic mix of restaurants and bars and it’s hard not to enjoy Noosa.

Noosa is just an hour and a half drive away from Brisbane. Located on Sunshine Coast, Noosa represents an ideal getaway for everyone, from the outdoorsy types to the artistic set. There are plenty of recreational pursuits that will keep the most eager holidaymaker busy! The eclectic mix of restaurants and bars won’t disappoint night owls as well.

It helps to have perfect weather – if you spot a cloud consider yourself unlucky. Hot and humid in summer (Nov – Mar), warm but enjoyably crisp in winter (May – Sept), the weather is one important ingredient that makes Noosa so popular. A surfers’ mecca of the 1960s, development around winding waterways of Noosa Heads, Noosa Junction through Noosavilla to Tewantin perched on the edge of lakes Cooroibah and Cootharaba and the wilderness of Cooloola National Park has been carefully controlled, so as not to impact on the natural environment and is not as kitsch and neon as the Gold Coast.

Surfing is just one of the many activities available – add to this bushwalking (or the more sedate, walking), mountain biking, diving, fishing, kayaking, golf, rock climbing, horse and even camel riding. There is no end to ways of enjoying Noosa’s natural environment. At a slightly slower pace one can explore nature at its best on by river cruise, stroll through the many galleries and shops of Hastings Street, or simply sit on the beach and take in the sun. One of the top resorts of the area is the Sheraton Noosa Resort and Spa. The hotel takes pampering to the highest level, having a full-service Spa, contemporary styled rooms and superb dining experiences. Is it really any wonder why Sheraton Noosa is the only five-star resort in this famed sunny destination!

Raring to soak up some of that Noosa sun? In summer as Australians descend on the Sunshine and Gold Coasts for their vacations, the area gets packed even in low season (if there is such a thing), winter parking is a challenge and accommodation can get full. So a word of advice – plan early!

Raring to soak up some of that Noosa energy? Summer can be hectic as Australians head for the Sunshine and Gold Coasts for their holidays. On the other hand, winter is also a challenge as parking and accommodation can get busy. So a word of advice—plan early!
